The last beautiful stories of Chironimo

By Francois Chirokoff

Collection

In his autobiography ("The Black Flag no longer floats over the Farmhouse"), the author was already wondering about the meaning of his life: "Who am I?"

Having received no satisfactory or even coherent answer, he then embarked on writing a real novel ("Quai des Indes"), creating a female character with whom he inevitably fell in love, until he understands that the narration of his story has escaped him from the beginning. The author, losing control of his writing, finds himself faced with the improbability of his own existence! A question therefore imposes itself on him, obsessive, haunting: "Am I?"

In his third opus, François Chirokov gives us nearly thirty short stories, inspired by his childhood memories, a few musical notes and yellowed photos, with no apparent link to each other, except his readers, who - through their comments (published on Shortédition) - finally deliver him from his quest: "You exist!"

In "The last beautiful stories", Chironimo, finally freed from his existential anxieties, invites us to discover his most recent stories, and certainly the most intimate. For our happiness, he brings his friends and relatives back to life, creating with them a surprising dialogue that makes fun of the passage of time and the thousands of kilometers that separate them.

The Pink Russian

By Suzanne Canepari & Stéphane Chirokoff

Illustrated biography of Sergei Alexeievich Chirokov

To understand Serge, you had to know where he came from, what he had been through. It was necessary to know the sacrifices made, the sufferings experienced. Only then did childhood memories, put end to end, take on meaning and paint, year after year, memory after memory, each of the traits of that man's character. This collection of memories retraces the story of a man who went through history, quietly, while he was living it and making it. These bits of text, borrowed from melancholy, joy and sadness, are the bits of a painting which try to draw Serge, the “Russe Russian”. "The true tomb of the dead is the heart of the living" (Tacitus)

Quay of the Indies

By Francois Chirokoff

Novel

"Quai des Indes" tells the story of an old retiree who, even if he often claims the opposite, is quite bored. Under an assumed name, Chironimo, he becomes a writer-amateur, and imagines a female character, whose name he will discover long after falling in love with her. The action takes place over several months, mainly near a bistro that the old man frequents assiduously, on a somewhat deserted Quai, in southern Brittany. The love affair between the character from the author's imagination and the latter ends up making the reader himself doubt the reality: is the author the character of a novel written by his double, or by one of his characters? The last chapter offers us a surprising denouement, where Chironimo, supposedly losing control of his narration, finds himself faced with the improbability of his own existence! A question then imposes itself on him, haunting, haunting: "Am I?"

The black flag

By Francois Chirokoff

Surreal biography of François Chirokoff

"Crazy" autobiography or science fiction novel, "the black flag no longer flies over the Métairie" could be a good example of what Boris Cyrulnik affirms: "In every work of the imagination, there is a self-narrative. every autobiography, there is an imaginary reworking"
